How our process works:

Paul Holmes provides advanced dentures to patients throughout Kilmarnock, he is dual qualified and registered with the general dental council as a clinical dental technician as well as a highly specialist dental technician. Clinical dental technicians have undergone years of clinical and technical training and are specialists in providing removable and implant retained dentures. They are specialists in this field of dentistry.

Your denture will be something you use every day and night putting them through extreme function. They support your facial contours, artificially replace missing teeth and facilitate speech. Cheap dentures are fabricated from cheap acrylics and teeth, they will wear down quickly or even break. So when considering a new denture it is an investment in your health and well-being which has a huge impact on your quality of life and social benefit.

We have three denture schemes available for our patients to consider, bespoke, premier and standard. Examples of all our denture schemes are available for our patients to view at their consultation appointment so you can see the difference in materials and choices of teeth. We are also very proud to be able to offer suction dentures, these dentures provide the same retention as implant retained dentures. If you have been advised you don’t have enough bone for implants, you are medically unsuitable for implants of financially not in a position to proceed with implant treatment this may be an alternative option for you to consider.

Your treatment for your new dentures starts with your free consultation which includes an oral examination, your existing dentures are examined in and out of your mouth. Often photographs of when you used to have your own teeth are helpful for determining denture tooth position and facial profile as well as planning for the final desired aesthetic result. Tooth shades and moulds are discussed with the patient allowing the patient to have an input in creating their own smile, some patients like their artificial teeth to be set slightly irregular, rotated or even anomalies incorporated into the tooth or teeth.

Following your consultation;

Appointment 1- Impressions of your ridges (Gums) are taken.
Appointment 2- Customised impression trays are made for a more detailed impression to be taken of your ridges (Gums).
Appointment 3 – This involves jaw measurements utilising wax blocks being tried into your mouth to determine facial support and an ideal jaw relationship. This will allow Paul to individually set your selected teeth into the wax blocks for your wax trial denture appointment.
Appointment 4 - The wax trial denture appointment is the appointment where you will see how your dentures will look, at this appointment Paul will carry out clinical speech, function and facial support checks eliminating any issues in the wax so these issues are not present in your finished dentures. The patient will be allowed plenty of time at this appointment to approve or fine tune any aesthetic aspects, sometimes patients are encouraged to return for another trial denture appointment as we understand this is an important decision which can’t be made at one appointment. It is only when the patient instructs Paul to proceed to the next stage that your wax trial denture will be processed and finished for your fit appointment.
Appointment 5 - At your fit appointment your dentures are checked again and you will receive oral health instructions including denture care.
Appointment 6 - One week after your fit appointment we encourage patients to attend for a review appointment, this appointment will allow the patient and Paul to discuss how your first week has gone wearing your new dentures.
We will contact you one year after fitting your dentures for you to attend for your oral health check-up and your dentures will be examined and re-shined in our laboratory. Dentures bed into gums after a period of time so it is not uncommon for patients to return before we contact them so we encourage patients to contact our clinic for any minor adjustments that may be required.

We are experienced specialist in this field of dentistry so why not take advantage of your free consultation and contact our clinic today, we are here to provide a service that you deserve.

PH Suction Dentures

One of the most difficult results to achieve in clinical dentistry is suction and stability on the full lower denture. The concept of eliminating the problem of the lower denture lifting by creating an effective seal around the entire border of the denture base through suction mechanism has been spreading worldwide.
This concept, developed by Dr Jiro Abe in Japan is available for suitable patients at PH clinics, it enhances the suction effect of full lower dentures and allows for denture suction even in patients with advanced resorption of the lower ridge. This newly developed technique for achieving effective suction and stability of the full lower denture has become an indispensable part of treating patients at PH clinics.

Best Way to Achieve Suction

The most ideal way to achieve suction of the full lower denture is to combine this technique with BPS®. The incorporation of the concept of suction mechanism into the systematic BPS denture fabrication process will ensure a high success rate in attaining lower denture suction as well as a high suction, stable upper denture.
PH Partial Dentures

PH Partial Dentures

PH removable partial dentures provide the patient with exceptional aesthetic results which naturally blend into their existing dentition, shade, mould and gum staining complement the natural transition between the patient’s own teeth, replacement teeth and gum tissue. Whether it’s an acrylic or chrome partial denture you require, teeth and gum tissue are examined first so that your denture is designed to work in harmony with your teeth during function without placing any unwanted forces on your existing teeth. Your partial denture will support your existing teeth keeping them in their correct positions and prevent drifting.

The high impact acrylic partial denture range can incorporate a thinner, finer finish. Maintaining strength whilst comfortably providing function and aesthetics. Clasps can be shade matched to your natural teeth to blend into your smile beautifully.

Our chrome cobalt partial dentures have the advantage of minimizing the amount of acrylic, we use a thin chrome framework which supports and replaces all teeth required to restore your smile. They are stronger, lighter and more durable than partial acrylic dentures. Clasps and framework are designed to provide support for neighboring teeth whilst keeping away from gum margins promoting a healthy mouth.

 My Customer Stories

Mrs Conlan
I was really pleased with the great work Paul did for my Mum, Mrs Conlan.
I liked how he explained everything through the whole process and would recommend him in the future to friends and family.

Necole M
Great service, friendly technician... highly recommended!
I have always been nervous when going to the dentist. During my consultation Paul made me feel relaxed he explained every step of my treatment. I needed a partial denture but couldn't tolerate the plastic style dentures. Paul gave me a chrome denture, you can't tell the artificial teeth from my own. The colour matches and shape of the denture teeth blend perfectly with my own teeth. I would highly recommend his services.
